Performance - La Décomposition des Mouvements - Dentergem - 2023

The sound of gentle sloshing of water. A body, enveloped in less more than its own skin. Slowly, the body assumes the fetal position, a primal position of protection and beginning.

A series of ritualistic, repetitive actions. Drops of water fall, hands and feet seek support, a gentle rocking. These actions, simple in their essence, charge with deeper meaning through their constant repetition. They reveal an inner process, a meditation on vulnerability, surrender and the cycles of existence.

Water, an element of purification and origin, plays a central role. It envelops, flows, and marks the movements. The nudity stripped of any distraction or social construction, emphasizes the pure, raw human form. It invites a direct confrontation with the essence of the self.

This performance is not a story in the traditional sense, but rather an evocation of feelings and states. It invites to experience meaning through repetition and the visual power of the body in relation to the water and limited space. It is an introspection in motion, a ritual that explores the boundary between vulnerability and strength, between beginning and transformation.
